About Eastsidesmalls >>
My real name is James Edmondson, and I live in Waite Park, MN.
I've been making music for about a year and a half now, using
my computer, loops, samples, and Acid 2.0 and SoundForge (both by Sonic Foundry.)
I enjoy experimental electronica very much and tend to experiment with sounds
and soundscapes. I don't remember exactly why I chose "The Seal of Hades" as
a cute sidekick, but I do remember how it happened.
I have a friend, let's call him Chad, and we used to get in these stupid kind of fights
where we would find pictures on the internet and say that each other looks like them.
During one of these fights, I found a picture of a seal on a hacked EPA site (it was pretty
funny. The hacker demanded something ludicrous and said that if the EPA did not deliver, he/she
was going to club 1000 baby seals and had this picture on it - minus the horns, mustache, and gotee.)
I immediately drew the horns, mustache, and gotee on the seal with the ridiculously cumbersome Paint
program and sent the picture to him, implying that he was "of the devil." I lost that fight pretty badly, BTW.
I don't remember exactly what he beat me with, but it wasn't pretty ;). I couldn't stop laughing at the irony
of the picture, so consequently I made it my artist pic at AcidPlanet.com. It has followed me ever since (although the picture
at AcidPlanet.com currently has glowing eyes on it.
What is my music like? Well, I know what it is to me, but here is a description from a good friend of mine - Scott from Dark Ryders.
"Eastsidesmalls material spans a full range of sounds and emotions,
evoking everything from the witty and ironic to the eerie and
futuristic, all of which reflects a wild and fun experience..."
If you really would like to know what my music is like, then I guess you're going to have
to hear it. Check out Mp3.com for streams or downloads of my newest material.
