Game related Bio.

My name is James, and I've been an avid gamer (both board and video) for about 15 years now. I still remember the first time I played Pacman, Pong, and Asteroids. I was pretty good at the former 2, and I was really good at Asteroids. I played a little on the Atari, but since I didn't have one myself, I was pretty limited in exposure.

I really started playing a lot of video games when I was introduced to Nintendo and its staple game Super Mario Brothers. I was immediately engrossed in SMB, Duck Hunt, Track and Field, and Kung Fu. I literally played hundreds of games on the Nintendo and was absolutely thrilled when the Super Nintendo came out (although at that time I doubted that any game could be as entertaining as Super Mario Brothers III, where you could get a freaking tail and fly!!! How cool is that?! :D) The Super Nintendo really introduced me to video strategy games. On this console, I played a game called Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV by Koei. What a great game! I then stuck with Koei and played such games as Genghis Khan II and the one they did in the American Revolution setting (I forget the name.)

Shortly after the playstation came out, I got into a free online game called ARC. In this 256 color multiplayer game, I really started coming around to online gaming, but not until I really got into local multiplayer games like Goldeneye, Super Smash Brothers, and Perfect Dark (the sequel to Goldeneye) for the N64. I also got into several really good strategy games (Seven Kingdoms, Caesar II, and several others.)

My first real good online/LAN experience came after I went to college in the form of Half Life TFC, a game that saw me and Jesse (a guy from my dorm) go 32 hours without sleep, eating nothing but junk food and playing TFC nonstop. By no means the crowning achievement in my life, but nonetheless a fun experience, especially since that 32 hour marathon was up until the hour of my Calculus II test. LOL :D!

After that, I got into Thief 1 (which lasted for a good number of months - you can never shoot a guard in the head with an arrow enough times; it's just too fun,) and last but definitely not least, StarCraft and its expansion pack Broodwar.

Of course, I moved on to Warcraft III and Frozen Throne, but I haven't picked up too many strategy titles since. Instead, I've recently engrossed myself in Guild Wars, by NCSoft and the former Blizzard gurus. I've returned to college and am currently attending MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN.
